Karen's Review Of This Property:
A brisk, fifteen-minute walk from Princes Street brings you to Channings, a delightful hotel encompassing five large Edwardian townhouses whose front parlors are now quiet sitting rooms with log burning fireplaces. Bedrooms are well equipped with DVD players, internet access, music system, and multiple television channels. They come in a range of styles, the suites at the top of the house having the most contemporary of décor (they are in a building that was once home to explorer Ernest Shackelton) and the most stylish of modern bathrooms. We stayed in a more traditional room (46) with two comfy chairs in the bay window where we sat on a summer evening overlooking gardens, chimneytops and a distant view of the hills of Fife. A little elevator runs between the floors. French cuisine is the forte of the restaurant. Breakfast is served in the conservatory.
