We defy you not to wax lyrical over the Three Chimneys and The House Over-By, an outstanding restaurant with rooms. Just the thought of the marvelous food served at the Three Chimneys sends us into raptures and the location, a historic croft packed with all the old-world charm of thick walls, low beams, and cozy dining nooks just cannot be overstated. The Spears have run the restaurant for over 20 years and in this time Shirley has gained a worldwide following for her food. Incorporating as much fresh local produce as possible from Skye and the Highlands, many of her dishes are based on traditional ideas but given her own modern slant. Accommodation in the adjacent House Over-By is stylishly chic. The large luxurious bedrooms are decorated in soft, earthy Highland colors, and each has a sparkling, state-of-the-art bathroom and views across Loch Dunvegan to the Outer Hebrides. In the mornings a generous buffet is served in the breakfast room. Substantially dicounted rates are available for dinner, bed and breakfast for stays of 2 nights or longer. For sightseeing, you are just 5 miles from Dunvegan Castle. Narrow lanes wind you round the north of Skye, with its bays, clifftops, and spectacular views.
