Karen's Review Of This Property:
Boath House is a real beauty—a Georgian mansion overlooking a lake with 20 acres of grounds with its own Victorian walled garden. The spectacular bedrooms are just the beginning. The two lake view rooms are divine: Number 3 has a grand bathroom with side-by-side free standing tubs, Number 4 a magnificent four poster. Woodland view rooms are on a smaller scale with features such as vivid collages and Robert Burns quotations on the bathroom walls. The contemporary style restaurant overlooks the lake—a perfect match to the chef’s stylish cuisine—some of the very finest in Scotland. Take a break from sightseeing and arrange for spa treatments or simply take it easy. Contemporary works from local artists are displayed throughout the house and the Mathesons encourage guests to move selected items to their room on a “try before you buy” basis. A separate double-bedded guest cottage in the grounds provides a secluded hideaway. Golfers head to the championship courses at Nairn and Dunbar but are also urged not to overlook the local good-value-for-money courses. Just outside Nairn you can visit the massive sand dunes that swallowed the village of Culbin. Loch Ness and Cawdor Castle are great attractions.
