Karen's Review Of This Property:
There is no sign that this Victorian townhouse in a quiet part of Chelsea is a hotel. Having successfully overcome the mysterious house-numbering system in Cadogan Gardens, you ring the doorbell, step into the paneled hall, sign the visitors’ book, and are enveloped by the refined atmosphere of days gone by. It is rather like a discreet private club with Victorian wing chairs, stern portraits, dark wood paneling and doors, guests daintily sipping afternoon tea, whispered conversations, and a chauffeured Mercedes at your bidding. Larger bedrooms are very quiet, as all but one are at the back of the hotel. The suites can only be described as magnificent. Guest room décor is generally on a lighter theme compared to the public areas, marble bathrooms abound. Breakfast and light meals are served in the newly renovated dining room in the basement with its Portland-stone floor, cream paint, wood-paneled walls adorned with a display of ceramic plates, and original black iron range (discovered buried in the walls during recent construction activities). Other amenities include private gardens and a fully-equipped gymnasium. The shops and restaurants of Knightsbridge are a few minutes’ walk away. Nearest Underground: Sloane Square.
