Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Hotel zum Storchen is absolutely wonderful, offering the professional service of a grand hotel but with a truly personal touch. Under Joerg Arnold’s direction, the staff not only serves graciously but seems to anticipate one’s needs. Guests enjoy the most sophisticated luxuries in modern bedrooms, all beautifully decorated in rich fabrics of reds, blues, and creams that complement the handsome walnut and mahogany furniture. A few rooms deserve special mention: Room 323 is a favorite, a large corner room with an expanse of river view through French windows, and 521, although a standard room, enjoys a private terrace overlooking the rooftops of town. The Storchen Bar is a cozy place to settle for a drink and accompanying piano music. The dining room is elegant, with an excellent menu and wonderful views (weather permitting, tables are set on the geranium-adorned terrace). The dining room is also the stage for a breakfast feast of juices, breads, meats, cheeses, cereals, and yogurts. Recent renovations have dramatically enhanced the entry and lobby of the hotel. Zürich is one of Europe’s most elegant cities, and the Zum Storchen affords a comfortably elegant base.
