Karen's Review Of This Property:

Palazzo Mÿsanus, a handsome, white stucco building perfectly located in the heart of Samedan, is one of the many charming old Engadine homes that line the narrow streets of this colorful town. The handsome building dates back to the 16th century when it belonged to the aristocratic Mÿsanus family. It changed hands many times over the years and during its final days, was a residence hall for the nearby university. The building was recently bought and restored with meticulous care to maintain its outstanding architectural features. In 2003 it was opened as a hotel by your delightful hostess, Monika Martin. You enter though an arched doorway into a very modern foyer. Modern black sofas and metal chairs are softened by potted plants and colorful traditional floral paintings on the walls. The reception area leads into the breakfast room that doubles as a bar in the evenings where live music is frequently the highlight. Here again, you find modern furniture, but the old world ambiance is evident in the vaulted ceilings. The guestrooms vary in style of décor. Those with a modern décor have light wood floors, white upholstered chairs, white duvets on the beds, and modern paintings on the walls. My favorite rooms were those with mellow, antique wood paneled walls and ceilings.

A breath of nostalgia, enjoyment and relaxation mediates the Palazzo. We offer cozy rustic pinewood rooms, comfortably furnished suites in modern design. Three of the rooms are wheelchair accessible. During the summer, a ticket for free use of the cable cars in the area is included. Art exhibitions paires with blues, soul or jazz in the imposing cross vault cellar of the Caverna bar. Palazzo Mÿsanus, the place to enjoy culture and music.
