Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Rheinhotel Fischerzunft is beautifully situated along the banks of the Rhine. The ferry leaves only a few steps from the hotel, making it a most convenient choice if you want to explore the river or just watch the boats go by. As you enter the hotel, an elegantly furnished dining room is to the left, and a sophisticated lounge furnished in muted colors to the right. There is a small staircase just off the hallway leading to a few guestrooms, each individually decorated—but all with a more modern, artistic decor. The rooms in front are termed suites and are the only rooms that face the river. Two of the suites are on the first floor and at water level, so views out the windows give the impression of being on a boat. There is only one suite on the second floor with views out through the dormer window. Until a century ago, the building used to house a fishermen’s guild. It was converted to a restaurant and about 50 years ago it was expanded into a simple hotel. In recent years the hotel was purchased by the very talented Mr. Jaeger and Mrs. Zwesper, who renovated the entire building—their exquisite taste is responsible for making the hotel so remarkably attractive. The outstanding, subtle, and fascinating Oriental flavors of the Fischerzunft’s “East meets West” cuisine attracts guests from all over the world.
