Karen's Review Of This Property:
Wengen is one of our favorite towns in Switzerland, and the fact that the village can only be accessed by train makes it even more fun to visit. But, what makes the town so special is its breathtaking view of the Jungfrau. There is always a shortage of good places to stay in Wengen so the Caprice, which opened in 2002, is a welcome addition to the hotel scene. Many of the hotels in town exude a nostalgic, old world appeal. However, if you prefer a contemporary elegance, you will fall in love with the Caprice. From the moment you enter, you will be impressed by the understated, refined décor. There is a fresh, uncluttered look achieved through the use of modern furniture and fabrics in pastel earth tones. The choice of subdued colors is an excellent one since nothing conflicts with the greatest asset of the hotel: its walls of windows that open to an absolutely stunning, mountain panorama. The hotel is owned by Christian Aubert. His talented wife, Monica, did the decorating. She has created an ambiance of simplicity that is softened by the warmth of wood, fine fabrics, soft lighting, and fresh flowers. The dining room, again with gorgeous view windows, is beautiful and the food gourmet. The spacious guestrooms, with carved wood balconies and marvelous views of the mountains, are more traditional in décor with pine furniture that has an alpine flair.
