Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Krafft, a modest hotel with an air of faded glamour, is located in a once-grand mansion that faces the Rhine River. As you enter, an intimate parlor to the left has a massive crystal chandelier, an ornate gilt mirror, high ceiling, and arched windows facing the street. The finest room in the hotel is a beautiful restaurant with tall casement windows that capture a splendid view of the river. From the reception, a handsome staircase with a wrought-iron and wood banister winds up to the guestrooms, all of which are different—both in décor and size. They are simply decorated, but the simple décor is reflected in the moderate room rate. Although the furnishings are basic, most of the bedrooms are spacious and all have private bathrooms. Ask for a room overlooking the river: these are definitely worth the additional cost. In 2005 the hotel a full renovation was completed without losing the charm of the past. In 2008 the hotel added 12 rooms in a renovated building across the street. The Krafft Hotel offers character, excellent location, pretty views, and low price.
