Karen's Review Of This Property:

Mas means an old farmhouse, implying perhaps a simple place to stay. This is definitely not the case at the Mas de Torrent, a hotel of absolute luxury and stunning charm, idyllically set in the countryside near the beaches of the Costa Brava. The enchanted 18th-century, honey-toned, stone farmhouse remains and is enhanced by outstanding interior design. The walls and vaulted, stone ceiling are painted a delicate, muted salmon—an ever so appealing color scheme that is repeated in the fabrics and fresh bouquets of flowers. There are several cozy sitting areas, each tastefully decorated with antiques from the region. What was once the kitchen is now the bar, and you can still see the original, deep, stone well. In summer, the gourmet restaurant spills over onto the adjacent patio. The restaurant on the terrace above the swimming pool offers a sumptuous lunchtime buffet and is a more casual place to dine in the evening. Indulge yourself in the luxurious spa with its indoor pool, saunas, Turkish and ice baths, and massage and treatment regimes. Several exquisite bedrooms are found in the original farmhouse, but our favorites are the cottages on the grounds—all have totally private terraces and seven have private swimming pools.
