Karen's Review Of This Property:
On rare occasions we discover a small hotel that is so perfect it seems too good to be true. This is definitely the case with the Posada del Valle. This charming, 19th-century stone farmhouse is tucked onto the south side of a hill with a breathtaking, stunning view. In one direction, the jagged peaks of the Picos de Europa soar into the sky; in the other direction, rows of limestone mountains melt endlessly into the horizon. In all hotels, warmth of welcome is the most important ingredient, and here you will truly be welcomed with an open heart. Your hosts, Joanne and Nigel Burch, originally from Britain, have lived for many years in Spain and have a sincere love of their adopted land, particularly Asturias. Joanne cooks dinner—be sure to book in advance—which often includes their organic “Xaldo” lamb. All the bedrooms are delightful; our favorites are the Sueve rooms with their king-size beds. If you enjoy simple inns with romantic charm, a stupendous setting, rustic appeal, delicious food, and great heart; you will love it. Guided walks are often available. Nigel and Joanne produce a brochure offering enough activities to keep you busy for a month.
