Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Douro River Valley is absolutely gorgeous: steep hillsides terraced with vineyards and dotted by white villages reflect in the sweeping, broad river below. Set right on the river’s edge you find Vintage House, a first-class hotel cleverly constructed so that all the rooms enjoy the water views. The first building off the parking lot is the Lodge, and serves as a tasting room. Continue on as the reception area is found down the cobbled drive. The hotel has two restaurants. The first, located beneath the lodge, is where breakfast and set-menu dinners are served. The second is quite elegant and is where one would settle for lunch or an à-la-carte meal. Spacious public rooms include the library bar, found in oldest part of the hotel. This is very attractive, with lovely furnishings set against old stone walls and under old beams. Climb a circular stair from the library to the bedrooms, which are all very similar in their traditional, elegant decor and luxurious appointments. While all rooms enjoy balconies, the suites are lovely with their own separate sitting areas and double the terrace area of the other rooms. Of the standard guestrooms there are three that are exceptional: on the third floor, topping the original core of the hotel, rooms 301, 302, and 303 all enjoy the best views and their own rooftop terraces.
