Karen's Review Of This Property:
For a delightful hotel in a fabulous location, the Lisboa Plaza is an excellent choice. Although not inexpensive, it offers value and its quality and service rival Lisbon's deluxe hotels. Classified as a Historic Building, the hotel is tucked on a small street, just steps from the Avenida Liberdade, Lisbon’s premier promenade, and backs onto the Botanical Gardens. The hotel’s exterior is most appealing: the contemporary building has been given pizzazz and a traditional look by a row of green awnings running across the front, flowerboxes with clipped greenery, and windows with old-fashioned small panes. You enter into a grand foyer which is elegant and serene, with light streaming through the windows and a beautiful cream-colored marble floor blending with walls of the same tone. Opening off this spacious foyer are the lounge, dining room, and bar. All are superbly decorated and maintain the same appealing ambiance of quiet, understated refinement. A relaxing, homelike ambiance is created by intimate sitting areas accented with beautiful fabrics, soft pastel colors, fine-quality furniture, handmade carpets, fresh flowers, and potted plants. Behind the bar a handsome bronze of a horse and jockey sets a sporting theme, which is continued by prints of racehorses on the walls. The guestrooms have all the amenities of a deluxe hotel and continue the same theme of good taste and pastel colors.
