Karen's Review Of This Property:
The magic of the Villa Rolandi begins when you are met in Cancún and whisked across the turquoise-blue water in the hotel’s private catamaran to Isla Mujeres. The magic continues when you enter the hotel’s impressive lobby richly embellished with dramatic marble columns, domed ceiling, and fresh flowers, with its distinctly Italian ambiance spiced with a tantalizing Mexican-Caribbean flavor—not surprising, as the owners hail from southern Switzerland, just at the Italian border. The Villa Rolandi has a fabulous, romantic restaurant with a deck extending right over the water and steps down to a pier where in season private yachts dock, bringing the rich and famous to dine. The suites are all similar in a modern style, with leather headboards, excellent reading lights, a separate sitting area, and private terrace or balcony sporting a Jacuzzi tub. The marble bathrooms are especially outstanding, with state-of-the-art amenities like double marble showers with dual showerheads, Jacuzzi-style sprays, and a steam-bath option. Guestrooms all look out to the hotel’s private beach with its soft, pure-white sand extending to the turquoise sea. For those who prefer a pool, there is an exquisite, large, swimming pool with a waterfall dropping down to a pond below. The wonderful staff here seems to take joy in pampering all of the guests.
