Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Hacienda Los Laureles is located on the outskirts of Oaxaca about a 10-minute taxi drive from the heart of town in an area called San Felipe del Agua. You would never know you are in a separate village since Oaxaca is so spread out that the various neighborhoods blend together. It is great fun to be in the center of town where you can explore the fascinating city on foot. However the Hacienda Los Laureles has much to offer: it is a beautifully run, lovely old hacienda with excellent food, friendly service, spacious guestrooms, a mini-spa, exercise room, and a swimming pool. Also offered are Eco-Historic Tours and private Oaxaca style cooking classes in the garden. Wide verandas wrap around a large, beautifully tended garden shaded by centuries-old trees and accented by colorful beds of flowers. Facing the garden is a charming restaurant where meals are served outside on balmy days. If your main purpose for coming to Oaxaca is to visit the archaeological sites of Mitla, Monte Albán, and Yagul, then the hacienda makes an especially appealing choice for accommodations since after a day of exploring the ruins, you can return to the peace and quiet of Los Laureles for a relaxing swim and excellent dinner. The hotel is the dream of well-known hotelier, Peter Kaiser, who after years of operating hotels for some of Mexico’s finest hotel chains, opened his own boutique hotel.
