Truly a grand-class resort on an intimate scale, the Quinta Real is the jewel in the tiara of hotels that crowns Oaxaca’s Riviera. If you’re seeking an experience wherein every desire is anticipated by a staff that outnumbers the guests two to one, and every detail of your accommodation fantasy is realized, this should be your destination. From the welcoming fountain in the open-air lobby to the gorgeous tiered pool and tempting strip of private beach far below (shuttle service provided for those wishing to avoid stairs), the place caters without pretension to guests accustomed to excellence and elegance. The sumptuous, oversized rooms seem suffused with golden light during the day and each includes a roomy sitting area and covered terrace with lounging couch, hammock, table, and sea views. Arabian royalty would feel at home amidst the stone pillars and tables, creamy domed ceilings, niched walls, and white cement floors polished to a soft sheen and inset with dark, smooth pebbles. The decor features pale, sun-colored textiles, armoires from Michoacán hand-painted in a tropical motif, and framed original art and weavings.
