Karen's Review Of This Property:
The most recent addition to the enticing selection of fine accommodations in Pátzcuaro is the lovely La Siranda Casa-Hotel. The owners, Manuel Rodriquez Arriaga & Isabel Lange, purchased the property in the early 1990s with the idea of some day opening a tiny, exquisite hotel exuding the coziness, privacy, and charm of a bed and breakfast. The dream of an inn was delayed for ten years while they traveled the world as Manuel pursued his diplomatic career. Upon returning to Mexico, the 16th-century house was tenderly renovated and beautifully refurbished by Isabel using their personal collection of furniture, antiques, and artwork collected from their years abroad. As characteristic of colonial-style buildings, the beauty of the home is secreted behind massive wooden doors that front the street. The magic begins as you step into an intimate garden courtyard, flanked by five deluxe suites, tastefully decorated and radiating obvious top quality in every detail. Breakfast and dinner (dinner by prior request) are served in an elegant dining room that overlooks a second tranquil garden. A large separate garden is ideal for reading under the shade of the trees or sunbathing by the pond. A fully equipped business room is available for those who might need to work during their stay or organize a business meeting on the premises.
