When one heads to the tropics for a vacation, falls in love with the sun and sea, then contacts the home office to tell them, “I’m never returning!” the Aussies say, “He’s gone troppo.” This is how the outstanding small hotel, La Quinta Troppo, acquired its name. This charming hotel offers guests eight uniquely decorated rooms filled with colorful Mexican art and handicrafts. All the bedrooms offer something special: some have balconies, one a private garden, and another a beautiful bath with two showerheads and a headboard painted by local artisans; while others have a magnificent view of Zihuatanejo Bay. No matter which room you choose, you will be pampered from the time of your arrival when you are greeted with a complimentary margarita and taken to your lovely room where you find cotton robes and slippers. Each night when you return to your room, you will find the bed turned down and fresh towels supplied. The hotel exudes a tropical luxury with every detail well-thought-out to make your stay memorable. The lap pool, with its pre-Hispanic-style fountains, is located in the terrace garden and is a perfect place to relax after a full day on the beach. The rates include a wonderful tropical Continental breakfast. The hotel has no TV, but does offer guests the use of a dedicated computer and has wireless internet. Kids over age 15 are welcome.
