Karen's Review Of This Property:
This lovely all-suite hotel, featured in the movie “When a Man Loves a Woman”, is built into the rocks of a tiny peninsula that juts into Zihuatanejo Bay. A short walk down a small lane leads to Zihuatanejo’s superb La Ropa Beach. La Casa Que Canta (the house that sings) derives its name from the musical sounds of the sea, and each of its suites is named for a Mexican song. The air-conditioned guestrooms all have unique personalities, privacy, serenity, and stunning views. All have terraces, ceiling fans, a mini-bar filled with complimentary bottled water, soft drinks and beer, and a marble bathroom with double sink and walk-in shower. Some have private pools and the proverbial hammock. The textured walls are painted a wonderful terracotta color. Furnishings for the hotel were collected from the finest artisans throughout Mexico. The palapa roof, typical of this tropical area, is outstanding by its size and shape. Meandering stairs lead from the lobby to the restaurant below, past the beautiful infinity pool, and down to a saltwater pool on the ocean level. Special features of the hotel include beautiful designs crafted from fresh flower petals and leaves that the maids create on the bedspreads and a wonderful gift shop in the lobby. Breakfast and lunch are reserved exclusively for guests, while dinner is open to all by reservation.
