Crowning a gentle hill in an exclusive residential area called Punta Diamante, the Quinta Real exudes perfection in every detail. From first glance, the hotel (whose entrance is flanked by two stone guardian angels) is splendid—obviously no expense was spared to create a masterpiece. The thatched roof, open-air reception area sets the mood of elegant informality. The decor is outstanding, with creamy, pastel colors blending in a quietly elegant fashion with the handsome carved furniture. All of the bedrooms, sumptuous yet comfortable, have a view of the sea and some suites even have their own private plunge pool. Ultimate luxury prevails with marble floors, bathrobes, and private balconies or terraces. The hotel is built into the hillside with pathways through the gardens leading down to the sea. For those who prefer to save their energy, an elevator will whisk you to the lowest level, where you find several gorgeous swimming pools snuggled in the gardens, palapa-style restaurants, bars, and an expanse of lush lawn stretching to a beautiful beach. If you have previously rejected the idea of a holiday in Acapulco, thinking it is a bit dated and overbuilt, consider again. You cannot help but love the Quinta Real where you are secluded in your own private paradise, yet just a short drive to the center of the city.
