Karen's Review Of This Property:
It is a pleasure to be able to include such a perfectly efficient, family-run hotel as the Due Fanali, located in a lovely square next to the 12th-century San Simeon church with its original Tintoretto painting. The hotel is housed in a 12th-century palazzo, once part of the church complex. The Feron family had the building restored many years ago to include the sixteen bedrooms (some with smaller “French” double beds) on the top three floors. A small elevator has been added for the convenience of guests. Simply appointed but pleasant guestrooms with occasional antique is the theme throughout including reception area and breakfast room. The quiet ambiance is that of a warm home, accentuated by Oriental carpets and rich-cream draperies. A seating area is set up just outside the front door, however breakfast is taken up in the delightful third-floor veranda, under the open terrace, with its superb view over the square to the Grand Canal. As an alternative to the hotel, there are four independent apartments near San Marco Square, well-decorated and including bedroom, living room with view, kitchenette, and bathroom with hydro-massage tub. A little off the beaten track but with easy reach to vaporetto water bus stop. Hostess Stefania is ever-present for guests, if not across the way in her newly opened deluxe hotel, Ca'Nigra.
