Hotel Menardi Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Hotel Menardi, over 200 years old, was originally a centrally located farmhouse, but as Cortina’s popularity as a fabulous ski center has spread, so has growth and new construction, and the farm is located just on the outskirts of town. The Menardi farm naturally evolved into a hotel as at first it gave shelter to the men carting loads over the Cimabanche Pass who needed a place to sleep. Today the inn is a simple but wonderful small hotel whose special ingredient is the old-fashioned warmth and hospitality of the gracious Menardi family—Franca Menardi assisted by her three sons Antonio, Alberto, and Andrea. The hotel maintains a country flavor with old prints on the walls, antique clocks, giant dowry chests, Oriental carpets, and beautiful hanging cupboards all set off by the warmth and gaiety of flowers everywhere. The dining room is most appealing and an excellent hearty dinner is served—be sure to request the half-pension rate. The individually decorated bedrooms are all attractive, several have balconies and all have double-glazing to guard against road noise. Several delightful rooms are located across the garden, with three lovely rooms sacrificing a mountain view for a private terrace.
