Karen's Review Of This Property:
For those yearning to take a closer look at the architectural marvels of 14th-century master Andrea Palladio, among other treasures of the Veneto region, the Villa Michelangelo could not be a more idyllic base. Scenically positioned in the Berici Hills surrounding historic Vicenza, this very appealing countryside retreat allows easy access to the 23 Palladian palazzos within the city plus 16 country villas scattered about the province. Formerly an 18th-century private residence, the extensive L-shaped main building includes a dining room with outdoor porticos serving excellent regional specialties. The very comfortable bedrooms and suites, with many amenities, are classically appointed in soft-peach or celestial-blue hues. Some have beamed ceilings and others have delightfully soothing views over an expansive manicured lawn bordered by a stone wall and balustrade up to the wooded hillsides. A cleverly designed indoor/outdoor pool, tucked below the lawn level, looks out over this same stunning panorama. Impeccably kept grounds add much to the overall peaceful and romantic ambiance. Attractions abound, including golf, concerts and local festivals, wine estates, jewelry and silversmith artisans, and medieval villages to explore.
