Karen's Review Of This Property:

Italy abounds with romantic places to stay, but none can surpass the outstanding beauty of the Villa Milani. This stunning property, on a hill overlooking Spoleto, just about has it all: enchanting architecture, breathtaking 360-degree view, splendid decor, gorgeous antiques, and owners who shower their guests with kindness. The villa was built in 1880 by one of Rome’s most famous architects, Giovanni Battista Milani, the grandfather of your hostess Giovanna Milani Capobianchi. Milani obviously poured both his talent and heart into his countryside retreat, embellishing his home with splendid ceilings, fireplaces, columns, marble statues, romantic gardens, and ancient Roman artifacts. The result is splendid. The current owners lived for many years in Rome then changed their lifestyle completely and moved to Spoleto, where they tenderly restored the home to its original splendor, adding beautiful bathrooms to each bedroom and a fantastic pool, perched on a terrace looking out to the soft wooded hills of Umbria. Giovanna must have inherited some of her grandfather’s talent, for she has decorated each room to perfection. The smallest room is also the most romantic, located in the tower with windows on four sides.
