Karen's Review Of This Property:
Accessed by a steep, winding road, the 18th-century rectangular Palazzo Terranova, which dominates the northern Tiber valley and seemingly all of Umbria, is softened by surrounding terraced gardens filled with roses, lavender, cascading geraniums, and magnolia trees. This stylish country house was lovingly restored back to life by an English family some years ago and is filled with precious antiques and paintings from England and Italy. The current owners continue this passion for beauty and art in this tranquil, Italian countryside setting. Each masterpiece of a bedroom, with its stenciled and painted designs, holds some enchanting feature and, just as in the creation of a painting, utmost attention has been given to color scheme, composition, and lighting. Most of the rooms have king-sized wrought-iron beds, soft linens and stunning views. The restaurant is open to guests for lunch and dinner with meals being prepared using fresh, seasonal ingredients, highlighting the special dishes of the area. There is a scenic pool taking advantage of views and spa treatments available. Delightful staff is on hand to satisfy any whim.
