Karen's Review Of This Property:

The Villa Zuccari, the childhood home of owner Paolo Zuccari, opened its doors in 2005 to guests. With the admirable success of their other nearby hotel, San Luca in Spoleto, it was natural that he and his gracious wife, Daniela, decided to transform the spacious pink villa into a small hotel. The back side of the villa is attached to the small town, while the front looks out over the garden, swimming pool and outlying fields. The main hall leads past the reception area, two cozy vaulted living rooms to the main dining room with its original terracotta tiled ceiling and sun-colored walls. Genuine local recipes are savored here with special attention given to the use of locally grown products. Individually styled bedrooms are found on the ground and first floors. While one daughter oversees the hotel in Spoleto, the other daughter, an architect, supervised the renovation project. Comfortable rooms are purposely on the large size, have antique furnishings and feature terraces or garden patios. Each bathroom has been created with a different combination of marble patterns, many with both bathtub and separate shower. A separate house in the garden can be rented for 8-10 guests. Before a full day of touring Umbria from this centrally located spot, a full breakfast awaits guests in the trellis-painted bar and breakfast room.
