Karen's Review Of This Property:

La Taverna Etrusca is in an intriguing, picturesque, little-known part of Tuscany called Maremma, where you find ancient towns with very old stone houses, wrapped by dense green woodlands, tucked into the landscape. Throughout this region, hiking, biking, and horseback riding are popular ways to discover the countryside. Etruscan ruins are found everywhere, making this an especially interesting area to explore. This property’s emphasis is not as a hotel, but rather as a restaurant. It’s housed in a rustic stone building situated in the center of a tiny village that seems to be suspended in time. The restaurant, which specializes in traditional Tuscan and Maremman dishes, faces onto a tiny piazza where a stone church, topped by a whimsical bell tower, sits at one end. Within, the restaurant abounds with medieval allure. High ceilings are enhanced by wood beams and huge stone archways divide the room into romantic dining areas. When the weather is mild, meals are also served outside on the terrace. Many dining guests never realize that there are also a few hotel rooms upstairs. These are small and simply decorated, but are very nice for the price.
