Karen's Review Of This Property:
In a small city near the coast, not far from the charming town of Lucca and the popular town of Pisa, you will find the Albergo Pietrasanta. Although “albergo” suggests a simple hotel, this small, deluxe property does not fit that definition. Located in the center of Pietrasanta, the building dates back to the 17th century when it was the home of the prestigious and wealthy Barsanti Bonetti family. There is a sophisticated, understated elegance throughout the hotel and a mood of luxury is set as you enter the lobby. To the right of the spacious foyer are two splendid lounges which exude the ambiance of a private home, with pastel walls, soft lighting, comfortable chairs grouped around a handsome fireplace, polished terrazzo floors, beautiful paintings, and bouquets of fresh flowers. The far end of the lounge opens through arched doors into one of the hotel’s most special features, a romantic garden courtyard, part of which is enclosed in glass to create a “winter garden” where a bountiful breakfast is served each morning. Forming one wall of the courtyard is a separate building, formerly the stables, which has been renovated to house additional deluxe accommodations. As would be expected, guestrooms reflect the same subdued, sophisticated good taste as the public rooms.
