The intense, untouched beauty of the Marittima area is gradually drawing attention away from the more popular northern areas of Tuscany, and the Villa Il Tesoro is a prime example of this trend. At first sight, “refreshingly diverse” comes to mind. The Swiss family Guldener, owners of this 300-acre property just 14 km from the seaside, have put their personal mark in the overall concept and detail of this sophisticated country resort. Within the traditional, preserved architecture of a group of stone farmhouses, the décor is contemporary and minimalist in line with the color, space, and nature of the surrounding soft hillsides adorned with olive groves and vineyards. Perfection reigns; from the stunning main sitting room completely open to the mesmerizing landscapes, to the wine bar, the attractive dining room, the circular swimming pool, and the impeccable grounds. With the idea that luxury is space, all similarly appointed guestrooms are true suites with living areas of varied dimensions, with striped zebra chairs and fluffy cloud-like white beds. “Il Fiore del Tesoro” restaurant chef Massimo Mammano serves an artful array of mouth-watering dishes inspired by the four seasons and authentic gastronomic culture of the Mediterranean.
