The Villa Le Piazzole is located on the outskirts of Florence with the advantage of being easy to find with convenient parking. Bus and taxi service to Florence are readily available. Villa Le Piazzole was built in the 16th century as a watchtower to ensure safe transit for goods coming into Florence. As you enter the gates and wind up to the villa crowning the hilltop, you can quickly see why this site was chosen for protection since the Ema Valley stretches below as far as the eye can see. You feel like a guest in a secluded country estate, yet Florence is only 3 kilometers away. The house has been lovingly restored, with great care taken to retain its original architectural features. Terracotta floors, whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings, handsome wooden furniture, and many beautiful antiques create the ambiance of a noble home. The guestrooms are spacious and the decor luxurious. All rooms and apartments have air conditioning, satellite TV, safe, mini-bar, direct-dial phone, and computer line and wireless connection. Added bonuses: a chapel for weddings, pool, Jacuzzi, and steam bath. In the cellar, tastings of their private-label wines and olive oil can be arranged with their English-speaking sommelier.
