Karen's Review Of This Property:

The recently-restored Villa Olmi, located on the outskirts of Florence, offers three types of luxury accommodations: suites within an historic villa, standard rooms in the former farmhouse, or two fully-equipped spacious apartments. Set on a flat 15-acre property facing distant hills, the 700-year-old villa, farmhouses, barns and surrounding land once belonged to a prosperous Florentine family. The more commercial “Fattoria” building holds 38 new bedrooms with marble bathrooms, reception and lounge areas, a breakfast veranda overlooking the orchards to the pool, and the restaurant, “Il Cavaliere”, where the chef creates fine Tuscan cuisine. A vaulted brick wine cellar offers wine-tasting from an extensive list. The 18th century villa however steals the spotlight—flaunting 12 luxuriously appointed suites all joined by a grand salon adorned with enormous Murano chandeliers. A laborious restoration project, under the regulations of the National Art Preservation Ministry, brought to light the splendid pastel-colored frescoes on walls and ceilings, which compliment selective antiques, canopy beds and sumptuous fabrics in the exclusive suites. Many personalized services are arranged by the courteous staff. The advantageous location of the complex allows easy touring of the Chianti area as well as Florence (complimentary shuttle service provided to and from the city center).
