A Relais & Chateaux Property

Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Rosa Alpina hotel is an oasis of luxury, comfort, and elegance in the very heart of the majestic Dolomite mountains. Although San Cassiano dates back to 1780, this ski and summer resort has seen growing popularity. The Pizzininis were a fundamental part of the development of the area and besides running the hotel in the pre-World War II years, they built the first ski lift and power plant for the village. For three generations the Pizzinini family has dedicated itself to the art of hospitality and performs this art with extreme naturalness, warmth, and efficiency, which is seemingly innate to the people in this Val Badia area. Although presenting a simple, typical chalet-style exterior from the street, the hotel expands to the side and back with mountain views and private gardens. Rooms and suites reflect the colors of surrounding nature, with primarily soft-cream hues accented with meadow greens and rust reds. The hotel incorporates many special features such as four restaurants, one with a two stars Michelin rating. Here chef Norbert Niederkofler works wonders based on regional recipes and leads off-season cooking classes. Daniela Pizzinini directs the full-spa center.
