Karen's Review Of This Property:

Alexander Ortner’s grandfather bought this shooting lodge in 1954 and over the years the family has expanded it to become the smallest four-star hotel in Merano. It really deserves accolades, for it is a simply delightful hotel, hospitably run by the Ortners, with the most spectacular views across the vineyards of the Merano Valley. This gorgeous view is the focus of the vine-covered terrace and in warm months a table is prepared for guests both here and in the dining room so that they always have a choice of where to dine. The set dinner menu ranges from five to seven courses (with a choice of main course), depending on the season and what is fresh and available (the executive chef has received numerous awards). Select one of the estate’s wines to accompany the meal. Relax by the pool in the shade of the old apple trees or sunbathe au natural on the secluded deck. The hotel was renovated in 2005 and a wellness and beauty spa were added and now most rooms are two-room suites with balconies and splendid views, large enough for a family of four. I was very struck by the variety of nationalities among the guests. The hotel also has an award-winning restaurant.

Directions: Take the Merano Sud exit from the new Bolzano-Merano road, follow signs for Hafling for 4 km, then turn right towards Labers. Follow this road for 5 km to the hotel.
