Karen's Review Of This Property:
The 16th-century Locanda del Sant’Uffizio, originally a Dominican monastery and then a farm, has been converted over the years into a delightful resort offering 40 guestrooms and an exquisite restaurant serving the finest of Piedmontese cuisine. The red brick hotel is surrounded by gently rolling hills dotted by woodlands and laced by vineyards which have been producing fine wines for many centuries (some of the wines served at the locanda are from their own estate). All furnishings are antique and every detail of the decor has been rigorously overseen, with the result being a very tasteful, elegant, yet relaxed hotel. It is surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and has its own swimming pool and tennis courts cozily nestled amongst vineyards. Our favorite bedrooms are the cloister rooms looking towards the swimming pool with either terrace or balcony. An ambiance of warmth and hospitality radiates throughout the hotel. Guests come from far and near to dine here—the food is outstanding, as would be expected in a one-Michelin-star restaurant. A complimentary aperitif is offered every evening from 7:30 pm to all hotel guests who have reserved a table in the restaurant.
