Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Cenobio dei Dogi was formerly the summer home of the Genovese doges, so it is no wonder that it has such an idyllic location nestled on a small hill that forms one end of Camogli’s miniature half-moon bay. From the hotel terrace there is an enchanting view of the tiny cove lined with marvelous narrow old fishermen’s cottages painted in all shades of ochres and siennas. The hotel has a very nice swimming pool, as well as a private (though pebbly) beach. Many of the bedrooms have balconies boasting romantic views of this storybook scene. There is a tennis court for tennis buffs, although I cannot imagine anyone wanting to play tennis with all the beautiful walking trails, which make enticing spider-web designs on the peninsula. The Cenobio dei Dogi is a larger hotel than most that appear in this guide, but the hotel possesses a solid, comfortable, no-nonsense kind of charm. Both public and guestrooms have been completely renovated, and they have done a beautiful job. It is not chic in the jet-set style of hotels frequently found on the Riviera, but has a lovely, fresh appeal. If you are enticed by pretty flower gardens and exceptional views, you will certainly like the Cenobio dei Dogi.
