Albergo Palazzo Viviani Sketch

Karen's Review Of This Property:

The tiny medieval village of Montegridolfo, nestling on the crown of a gentle hill, seems too perfect to be real—everything looks fresh and new and all the buildings homogeneous. At first it is a bit confusing because every picture-perfect little restaurant, shop, and boutique has the same buff-colored brick façade, pretty red geraniums out front, and white embroidered curtains peeking behind brown-shuttered windows. Yes, the village is real, but was totally reconstructed at one time as one development. The Albergo Palazzo Viviani, a part of this renovation, is a hotel converted from a noble palace and still retains the charm of a private home. The living room with its honey-colored walls, oil paintings, opulent drapes, open fireplace, and handsome antique furnishings is extremely attractive. Upstairs are eight elegant, luxurious guestrooms. The most dramatic is the Affreschi suite, with gorgeous frescoes on the walls, ornately painted ceiling, and, best of all, windows on three sides letting light stream into the room. In a separate building in the garden there are more rooms, each named for a flower. These guestrooms are less expensive, but although smaller than those in the Palazzo, are nicely decorated. There are also five suites and thirty rooms in various buildings around town.
