Karen's Review Of This Property:
Santa Maria di Castellabate is a picturesque village hugging the sea at the southern tip of the Bay of Salerno. I fell in love with this exceptionally colorful, unspoiled fishing hamlet several years ago. Villa Sirio is an ancient villa from 1904 located in the historic center right on the sea. Alfonso and Rosalinda Tortora restored the building and opened in 1997 as a charming, small hotel. They are fantastic hosts who treat their guests as friends, extending their hearts to all who come through the door. The handsome building is painted a rich yellow with white trim around the windows. The mood is set as you enter the intimate reception area where oil paintings decorate the walls and give a welcoming, homelike ambiance. The color scheme throughout is a happy one and all the guestrooms are lovingly decorated in fine taste. The rooms facing the sea are in pretty hues of blue and yellow and have a balcony, while those facing the village are in green and yellow. What fun to sleep with the waves lapping beneath your window. You can enjoy the clear sea while sunbathing on the hotel's private beach. The food is excellent and served in a beautiful dining room under a coved ceiling with giant arches. From June to September you can eat on the sea reef terrace by candlelight. The Tortora’s son, Andrea, and his American wife, Alessandra, run the restaurant.
