Le Sirenuse is a superb luxury hotel tucked in the picturesque ancient fishing village of Positano. It is no wonder that so many writers and artists have been attracted to this colorful town of brightly hued houses clinging to the precipitous hillside as it drops down to its own small bay. And it is also no wonder that so many of these famous people have found their way to the oasis of Le Sirenuse, a favorite hideaway for discerning travelers seeking discreet, understated elegance. From the moment you enter the hotel lobby the mood is set with fresh white walls, tiled floors, oil paintings on the walls, accents of antiques, and an abundance of colorful flowers everywhere. The hotel is built on terraces cut into the hillside and so almost all the rooms capture a wonderful view out over the quaint rooftops and the tiled domed cathedral to the shimmering blue waters of the bay. It is only a short walk through the perpendicular streets until you are on the beach. The dining room has walls of glass that allow the maximum enjoyment of the vista below, but most diners prefer the splendor of eating outdoors on the terrace, surrounded by flowers and views of the sea. On another level of the hotel there is a swimming pool. The hotel also has a spa and its own parking area (rare for Positano).
