Karen's Review Of This Property:

The spectacular, family-run Il San Pietro di Positano is claimed to be one of the most beautiful, deluxe hotels in the world. It is—there is no question about it. From the moment you approach the hotel, class is evident: no large signs; no gaudy advertising; just an ancient chapel along the road indicates to the knowledgeable that an oasis is hidden below the hill. After parking in the designated area near the road, you take an elevator, which whisks you down to the lounge and lobby. You walk out of the elevator to a dream world—an open, spacious oasis of sparkling white walls, tiled floors, colorful lounge chairs, Oriental rugs, antique chests, flowers absolutely everywhere, and arches of glass through which vistas of greenery and sea appear. To the right is a bar and to the left is a marvelous dining room—again with windows of glass opening to the view, but with the outdoors appearing to come in, with the walls and ceilings laced with plants and vines. The bedrooms too seem to be almost a Hollywood creation—more walls of glass, bathrooms with views to the sea, and balconies on which to sit and dream. If you can tear yourself away from your oasis of a bedroom, an elevator will whisk you down the cliff to the small terrace at the water’s edge. If all this sounds ostentatious, it isn’t. It is perfect.
