Karen's Review Of This Property:
The Marincanto is a classic hotel in Positano which in the 1960’s, even though being very understated, had such illustrious guests as Jackie Onassis and Grace Kelly, among other stars. A complete renovation in the past years has brought this charming place up to par with the top choices in town offering those famed views out over the cliffside town to the sea. It is certainly the coast's best kept secret. From the main street level all you can see is the parking area and a small entrance leading to the elevator which takes you down to the main reception area. Everything that epitomizes the coast is found here in one open and airy space: light, the turquoise sea, colorful ceramic tiles, spotless white interiors, and flowers bursting out of vases everywhere. The breakfast terrace is a dream with potted lemon trees and crisp white linens and more views where light meals are served. Each sun-laden room has its own private terrace from which to take in the sunset over the sea or breakfast. A private beach below the hotel reached by many steps is another privileged feature along with its perfect location on the main street of Positano.
