Karen's Review Of This Property:

One of our favorite recommendations along the southern coast of Italy is the Santavenere Hotel, an ideal stopping point if you are driving south to Sicily. However, don’t just consider it as a place to spend the night en route—the Santavenere is so special you will want to linger and use it as a base to explore this lovely niche of Italy. The hotel, built in 1956, is perfectly positioned on a promontory above the sea, affording unsurpassed views of the gorgeous, sparkling, turquoise water. Although the hotel is of contemporary construction, its interior radiates an old-world charm combined with a nautical flair. The living room is elegant, but not stuffy—comfortable slipcovered chairs and sofas form cozy conversation nooks, while fine antiques and beautiful ship models lend further charm. The guestrooms too are extremely attractive in their decor and, best of all, each has its own terrace or balcony with a view of the sea or the park. The property is very large and in the meticulously groomed gardens there are gorgeous displays of flowers and lush lawns. Here you find a beautiful swimming pool from which a path leads to the edge of the cliff and then loops down through a fragrant pine forest to the sea where guests can swim in the crystal-clear water.
