Karen's Review Of This Property:
The summertime evening view from the dining room of Castle Murray House is simply staggering. As the night slowly draws in on green fields that tumble to the sea and scudding clouds dapple the reddening sky, the sun slowly sinks behind the distant Slieve League, the highest sea cliffs in Europe. The food, with lots of local seafood on the menu, is as outstanding as the view and served in portions that satisfy even the heartiest of Irish appetites. Chef Remy Dupuy’s cooking attracts a large local following, so the best way to secure an often hard-to-come-by dinner reservation is to stay here. After an evening-long repast you can retire up the narrow pine staircase to one of the smartly decorated bedrooms with their sprightly contemporary decor and pleasing color schemes. Be sure to request a room with a view of the bay. If you want the most spacious of accommodation, opt for the “honeymoon room” found atop a narrow flight of stairs at the top of the house. While it does not have “the view” from its bedroom, it does from its spacious deck. Between breakfast and dinner the rugged Donegal landscape is yours to explore.
