Karen's Review Of This Property:
The O'Donnell family's picturesque farmhouse has great appeal. It is over 200 years old and has received a sensitive restoration. There's a snug little lounge with a low thick stone arch that was one of the original doors in the house attesting to the fact that folks must have been much smaller in days gone by. A bay window nook overlooks the front garden and provides a perfect place for laying out your map and planning the days activities, returning home for one of Ber's excellent home-cooked dinners. Upstairs there are three guest bedrooms: 1: a tiny double with en suite shower (usually rented as a single), 2: a snug twin with bathroom, and 3: a larger room with zip-link beds with an en suite shower room. Take a stroll round the lovely garden and walk down to and along the riverbank. Trout fishing is a great draw. Walkers head for the hills—Kilmaneen is surrounded by the Comeraghs, Knockmealdowns, and Galtee Mountains. Kevin can either take you out for the day in a group walking or supply you with maps. Sightseers have lots to keep them busy with driving The Vee and visiting Lismore, Cahir, Cappoquin, and Swiss Cottage. If you have a family, enquire about renting the adjacent little two-bedroom cottage, either for bed and breakfast or on a self-catering basis.
