Karen's Review Of This Property:
Flemingstown House, an 18th-century farmhouse, is just an hour’s drive south of Limerick and Shannon airport, a quiet countryside world away from the hustle and bustle. Walk round the farm and chat with Imelda as she works in her spacious kitchen; for the two things that Imelda loves are cooking and taking care of her guests. It would be a shame to stay and not eat, for Imelda prepares tempting meals in which, following the starter and soup, there is a choice of meat or fish as a main course and always three or four desserts and farm cheeses made by her sister and her husband. The intricate stained-glass windows of the conservatory-style dining room were made by the same artist as those in the local church. Upstairs the bedrooms are top of the line, beautifully appointed and provided with a variety of twin and king-size combinations that can accommodate families of all sizes. Each bedroom has a small shower room. Nearby Kilmallock has the ruins of two friaries and the remains of its fortified wall weaving through the town. Guests find this a good base for touring counties Limerick, Tipperary, Kerry, and Cork.
