Karen's Review Of This Property:
Paul's parents bought this huge home when he was a child and quickly discovered that it was far too large to maintain as a family home without an army of staff, so they opened it up to guests. His mum, Jean, while claiming to be retired still enthusiastically advises guests on where to go and what to see between breakfast and dinner—she has enough sightseeing venues to occupy a fortnight. Wife Clare does the front of house in an evening while Paul is in the kitchen. Up the grand staircase there are some very spacious, well equipped and comfortable bedrooms—be sure to discuss the size of bed, several are large zip-and-link beds while others are smaller with lovely old head and footboards. Do not miss the opportunity to visit Lismore Castle, Swiss Cottage, and Waterford Crystal, or to take a drive over The Vee. You need to keep busy to work off the delicious dinners that Paul prepares (a set four-course menu with choices or the flexibility of being able to order à la carte). Old and new guests alike revel in the relaxed idiosyncrasy of the place.
