Karen's Review Of This Property:
I arrived on a windswept stormy day to be revived by hot tea and a slice of cake. The journey was quickly forgotten as I became engrossed in Patricia’s tale of training the new rooster to begin his song at 8 am, instead of dawn, to give guests a good lie in. Patricia and her husband Austin (passionate about all-things golf) are welcoming hosts, generous with their time and experts at planning trips—one along the coast and across the little ferry to Waterford is a favorite with guests. Their farmhouse dates back to 1703 and over the years various owners have made additions and changes with, most recently, Austin and Patricia’s transformation. Incredibly, the soaring garden room, where you toast your toes before the fire and gather for sherry before dinner, was recently a crumbling piggery. Bedrooms come in all shapes and sizes are priced accordingly. Patricia’s dinner celebrates good country food with local, organic produce. Austin offers a short, value-for-money, wine list. If you are traveling to Ireland via the Rosslare Ferry, a stay at here is an excellent introduction to Ireland or a great place to spend your last nights in the Emerald Isle.
