Karen's Review Of This Property:
Readers’ letters praise the warmth of welcome, the delectable food, the quality and utter charm of this country house—and the fact that Mornington is an hour and a half’s drive from Dublin airport, making it an ideal first or last destination in Ireland. I totally concur; for a stay at Mornington House with Anne and Warwick, the fifth generation of his family to call this home, is also something I find completely delightful. The O’Haras have an easy way of making guests feel at home. They chat with them in the drawing room after dinner, and put a lot of trouble into helping them with their activities and sightseeing in this unspoiled region with its lakes, canals, and gently undulating countryside. Anne is a talented cook, producing delicious dinners and outstanding breakfasts. Families are welcome and children can be served an early tea. The two front bedrooms are enormous: one has a large brass bed sitting center stage while the other has a Victorian double bed and shares the view across the peaceful grounds. The third bedroom, a delightful twin-bedded room, looks out to the side garden and the woods. The oldest wing of the house contains two smaller bedrooms overlooking the kitchen garden.
