Karen's Review Of This Property:
The King Sitric is Ireland’s premier fish restaurant, so here you can enjoy wonderful seafood then be lulled to sleep by the sea just 20 minutes from Dublin airport. Take an aperitif at the long tasting table in the wine cellar while perusing the menu, and then go upstairs to dine in the restaurant with its sweeping views over Dublin Bay. Aidan and Joan explain their food philosophy: “We have built up a network of suppliers of the finest Irish produce. Most of the fish is landed here at Howth. Our smoked salmon is smoked by McLoughlins on the West Pier and crab comes from John Sheridan who fishes Balscadden Bay a stone’s throw from our door. Our Irish vegetables and meats are locally produced and mostly organic.” After dinner enjoy a gentle stroll down the pier before retiring to bed in rooms named after Irish lighthouses. You’ll find lots of polished wood and natural materials with subtle nautical touches. All bedrooms have sea views though Rockabill and Fastnet, the largest rooms at the top of the house, have the best. It’s an excellent base for visiting Dublin—a 10-minute walk brings you to the Dart station for a 25-minute ride to Trinity College. Howth marina is just 3-minutes away by foot, while a more energetic hike takes you up to Howth Head.
