Karen's Review Of This Property:
The heart of Temple Bar with its trendy stores and vibrant nightlife is a most appropriate spot for a luxury boutique hotel. Originally built in 1852, the building was for many years a cleric’s residence. The conversion to a hotel kept all the attractive architectural features such as oak paneling, wooden floors, and lovely old windows. The cleric colors of purple, brown, red, blue, and gold are subtly included in every room. Decor is uncluttered, with simple lines. Relax in the peace and quiet of the study with its open fire, writing table, and wood-paneled walls or enjoy conviviality and a cocktail in the Octagon Bar. The Tea Room, a onetime ballroom with magnificent art deco windows, is a grand place to eat dinner. Bedrooms and bathrooms have lots of lovely, mellow American White Oak, Egyptian cotton bedding and splashes of blue, brown, red or gold—all very serene—and double glazing ensures a quiet night’s sleep. The handcrafted beds are king sized and rooms are equipped with interactive TV, entertainment systems, and wifi. There are seven balcony rooms, and several rooms that interconnect to make two bedroom family suites—children are made particularly welcome. The location, overlooking the River Liffey on Dublin’s “left bank” is perfect for exploring Dublin on foot. The hotel has a small garage and valet parking is available.
