Karen's Review Of This Property:

Located just off the A4 and nestled in a wooded park, the Hotel Hohenhaus is a convenient base for exploring the many sights in Eisenach, Weimar, and Erfurt. However, many guests come to just relax, take strolls in the surrounding forest, enjoy the gourmet meals, and swim in the large, indoor pool that overlooks the gardens. The hotel sits at the edge of the tiny pretty village of Holzhausen, 8 kilometers from Herleshausen. As you drive up, your first glimpse of the tan stone manor is seen through intricate, wrought-iron gates flanked by stone pillars. Six guestrooms are in this manor, but they have not yet been renovated so they are only rented when the hotel is full. The majority of the guestrooms are in the newer wing, contemporary in architecture yet with a traditional, understated elegance, and a wonderful collection of antique Kilim rugs. The ground floor is devoted to the reception area, a sitting nook in front of a handsome fireplace, a sunroom, and the dining rooms, where Michelin-star Chef Ingo Bokler serves his creations. The front of the building has large windows overlooking the lawn. Taking advantage of this lovely setting, dining tables and chairs are set on a lower cobblestone terrace where rolling hills stretch to the edge of the forest.
